  102. Use the installation utility contained on this diskette to copy the driver
  103. files to your Applause II directory on your hard disk.
  104. IMPORTANT:  While using the installation utility, make sure that you 
  105. respond with a "Y" (Yes) when prompted for "SETUPAP.RES overwrite [Y/N]".
  106.  
  107. Using the "SETUPAP" Program
  108. ---------------------------
  109. Run the SETUPAP program to configure Applause II with your printer.
  110.  1. From the Applause II directory (i.e., C:\AP15) on your hard disk, 
  111.     type SETUPAP ...then <Enter>.
  112.  2. Press S (Setup) ...then press <Enter>.
  113.  3. Press O (Output) ...then press <Enter>.
  114.  4. Use the arrow keys to highlight an "Output device..." that hasn't been
  115.     configured yet ...then press <Enter>.
  116.  5. Press <Enter> again to select "Printer".               
  117.  6. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight "HP DeskJet 500C", 
  118.     then press <Enter>.
  119.     NOTE: If you also want to print using the black ink cartridge, 
  120.     be sure to select "HP DeskJet series..." as an additional printer.  
  121.  7. Press M (MainMenu) ...then press <Enter>.
  122.  8. Press <Enter> again to select "Save changes".
  123.  9. If you also selected "HP DeskJet series..." for black-only printing,
  124.     you may need to insert your Applause II "Printers Disk" into a floppy 
  125.     drive at this time.
  126. 10. Type the floppy drive letter ...then press <Enter>.
  127. 11. Press E (Exit) ...then <Enter>, to end the SETUPAP program.
  128.  
  129. Setting Up For Color Printing
  130. -----------------------------
  131. From Applause II do the following;
  132.  1. Under "File" in the menu bar, select "Print...".
  133.  2. With your mouse, click on the printer device and drag the cursor down
  134.     to select "HP DeskJet 500C".  NOTE:  If you're not using a mouse, 
  135.     press the <Tab> key several times to highlight the block to the
  136.     right of "Device:", then press <Enter> and use the up/down arrow 
  137.     keys to select "HP DeskJet 500C"  ...then press <Enter> again.
  138.  3. Select "Setup".
  139.  4. Verify that your "Output port" is correct.
  140.  5. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight the block across from
  141.     "Resolution:" ...then press <Enter>.
  142.  6. Select the desired resolution.
  143.     NOTE: "Low"    = 75 dots per inch (faster, lower quality)
  144.           "Medium" = 150 dots per inch (medium quality)
  145.           "High"   = 300 dots per inch (presentation quality)
  146.  7. Select the desired "Paper size:".
  147.  8. Verify that the color ink cartridge is in the printer.
  148.  9. Click on "OK" (or <Tab> to it, then press <Enter>) to begin printing.
  149.  
  150. Setting Up For Black-Only Printing
  151. ----------------------------------
  152.  In order to switch from color-only (color ink cartridge installed) to
  153.  black-only (black ink cartridge installed) printing, you can simply select
  154.  "HP DeskJet series..." from the "File", "Print...", "Device:" menu.  Make 
  155.  sure that the black ink cartridge is installed in the printer.
  156.  NOTE: This assumes that you selected "HP DeskJet series..." as another
  157.  printer in the SETUPAP program (as mentioned above in step #6 of the
  158.  "Using the SETUPAP Program" section).
  159.  
  160. Miscellaneous Notes
  161. -------------------
  162.  Colors displayed on screen may not match those printed.  We have provided
  163.  a custom palette called "HPDJC".  In order to use the palette, you'll 
  164.  need to copy the "HPDJC.PAL" file (contained in your Applause II 
  165.  directory) to the PALETTES directory.  For example;
  166.  C:\AP15>  copy HPDJC.PAL \AP15\PALETTES  ...then press <Enter>.
  167.     
  168.  Refer to your Applause II documentation on how to select and modify
  169.  various palettes.
  170.  
  171.  Creating charts or drawings using a palette other than the HPDJC palette
  172.  will yield unpredictable results.  Use the HPDJC palette to obtain the 
  173.  closest color matching results.  Charts or drawings that were created
  174.  using a different palette will need to be edited using the HPDJC palette. 
  175.  Even with the custom palette installed, you may experience some variation
  176.  in printed versus displayed colors.  In these cases it is best to create 
  177.  (then print) a small square at the left edge of the page and adjust the 
  178.  palette to obtain the color you desire.

  182.                            for Artline, Version 2.0
  183.  
  184. Using the ALSETUP Program
  185. -------------------------
  186. NOTE: In order to successfully install the DeskJet 500C printer driver
  187. make sure that the "DeskJet 500C Printer Drivers for Color DOS applications"
  188. diskette is the same type/size media as your Artline master diskettes.
  189.  
  190.  1. Begin the Artline "ALSETUP" program.
  191.  2. When prompted with the message, "Change Existing Installation <Yes>", 
  192.     use the spacebar to select and continue to the next menu screen.
  193.  3. Insert the "DeskJet 500C Printer Drivers for Color DOS applications"
  194.     diskette in a floppy drive.
  195.  4. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight "Change your Source Drive", 
  196.     then press <Enter>.
  197.  5. When prompted for the "[ Source Disk Path ]" type the drive letter 
  198.     (A:\ or B:\) where you inserted the floppy diskette, then
  199.     press <Enter>.
  200.  6. Press the up arrow key to highlight the "Select here to Continue to
  201.     next menu" ...then press <Enter>.
  202.  7. Press <Enter> to accept your screen driver selection.
  203.  8. Press <Enter> to accept your pointer device selection.
  204.  9. On the [ Select Printer(s) ] screen use the up arrow key to highlight
  205.     "Load Additional 4.0 Printer Driver Packs...", then press <Enter>.
  206. 10. Press the up arrow key to highlight "HP DeskJet 500C Printer 
  207.     (300 x 300 dpi)". 
  208. 11. Press the space bar and select the interface PORT where your printer 
  209.     is connected, then press <Enter>.
  210.     NOTE:  We recommend that you use one of the parallel ports (LPT1, LPT2)
  211.     with your DeskJet 500C printer.  Using a serial (COM) port is not
  212.     recommended due to slow throughput when printing color documents.
  213. 12. On the [ Icon Name ] screen press <Enter> to accept the "HP DJ500C"
  214.     name.  NOTE:  This is the name that appears below the icon in the 
  215.     Artline "Devices" dialogue box. 
  216. 13. Press the down arrow key to select the continuation message, then     
  217.     press <Enter>.
  218. 14. Press <Enter> when prompted at the "[ Select Plotter ]", 
  219.     "[ Select Camera ]", "[ Artline Utilities & Clip Art ]", and 
  220.     "[ Review/Change Selections ]" screens. 
  221. 15. Follow the Artline prompts to insert any master floppy diskettes
  222.     to complete the installation.
  223. 16. After all files have been modified/copied, press <Enter> to exit
  224.     the ALSETUP program and return to the DOS prompt.
  225.  
  226. Printing from Artline 2.0
  227. -------------------------
  228.  1. Start the Artline program.
  229.  2. Choose "File", then "To Output..." from the menu bar.
  230.  3. Under "DEVICES" choose the "HP DJ500C" printer.  You may need to
  231.     scroll down to view, then select the icon.
  232.  4. From the "Preferences" pull down menu select "Paper size...". 
  233.     Verify that the correct "Paper Size:" is selected, then click OK.
  234.  5. From the "Preferences" pull down menu select "Paper tray...". 
  235.     Choose the "Default-Main Tray..." selection, then click on OK.
  236.  6. From the "Preferences" pull down menu select "Port selection...".  
  237.  7. In the "Send output to:" dialogue box select the printer port
  238.     your printer is connected to.  NOTE:  This selection must match
  239.     the choice you made in the ALSETUP program.
  240.  8. Select "START" to begin printing.
  241.  
  242. Miscellaneous Notes
  243. -------------------
  244. * When creating a graphic make sure that the page size within 
  245.   "Page Layout..." matches the printer preference paper size in the 
  246.   "To Output..." menu.  NOTE:  If a document was created using A4
  247.   paper size, then printed using "Letter (8.50 x 11.00)" paper size 
  248.   settings, the image may be clipped.  To remedy this problem, choose
  249.   "File", "To Output...", "Options...", "Page Scale...", then select
  250.   the "Scale to page" icon.
  251. * To change the page orientation select the "File" pull down menu,
  252.   then "Page Layout...".  Make your selection of either Portrait or
  253.   Landscape.

  260. Installing the Driver
  261. ---------------------
  262. To install the DeskJet 500C driver into the Freelance Graphics for DOS
  263. directory, do the following;
  264.  1. Insert the "DeskJet 500C Printer Drivers for Color DOS Applications" 
  265.     (this diskette) diskette into a floppy drive.
  266.  2. From the DOS prompt on your floppy drive (e.g., A: or B:), type 
  267.     NEWDRIVE followed by the full path name of your Freelance Graphics
  268.     for DOS directory.
  269.     For example;  NEWDRIVE C:\FL  ...then <Enter>.
  270.     When you see a message that the driver names have been added to the
  271.     list of available drivers, you can install the drivers in Freelance
  272.     Graphics.  (See the "Installing and Setting Up" manual.)
  273.  3. Start the Freelance Graphics for DOS program.
  274.  4. From the opening menu, select "Device and Font Setup".
  275.  5. Select "Install-devices", then <Enter>.
  276.  6. Use the up/down arrow keys to select one of the previously installed
  277.     devices you want replaced with the DeskJet 500C driver. 
  278.  7. Press the <Space Bar> to view the list of printers to choose from.
  279.  8. Highlight "HP DeskJet 500C" ...then press <Enter>.
  280.  9. Highlight "DONE", and press <Enter>.
  281. 10. Select "Yes" to confirm your choices.
  282. 11. Type the floppy drive letter (e.g., A: or B:) where you inserted the
  283.     diskette  ...then press <Enter>.
  284. 12. Highlight "Quit" ...then <Enter>.
  285. 13. Highlight "Yes" ...then <Enter>, to return to the Freelance opening
  286.     menu screen.
  287.  
  288. Printing from Charts and Drawings
  289. --------------------------------- 
  290.  1. Begin the "Charts and Drawings" program.
  291.  2. Select Print, Options.
  292.  3. Use the up/down arrow keys to position the cursor next to "Device:"
  293.  4. Press the <Space Bar> to view the list of output devices.
  294.  5. Highlight "HP DeskJet 500C" ...then press <Enter>.
  295.  6. Choose the desired "Orientation:" (vertical, or horizontal).
  296.  7. Leave the "Output Mode:" as "DIRECT" when printing directly to the
  297.     printer.
  298.  8. Tab to the "Output port:" field, then press the <Space Bar> to 
  299.     view a list of output ports to choose from.
  300.     NOTE: We recommend that you use one of the parallel (LPT1, etc.) 
  301.     ports for printing color graphics.  Using a serial (COM) port will
  302.     result in much slower color print speeds.
  303.  9. Choose the desired "Resolution:" (Normal 150 DPI, or High 300 DPI).
  304. 10. Choose the "Paper size:" you'll be using.
  305. 11. Tab down, or use the down arrow key to select the "Media type:" 
  306.     (paper, or transparency).
  307. 12. Tab down, or use the down arrow key to select the "Print quality:" 
  308.     (normal, or presentation).
  309. 13. Tab to "DONE", and press <Enter>.

  314.  
  315.  
  316. Use the installation utility contained on this diskette to copy the
  317. driver files to the ...\HG3\DRIVER directory on your hard disk.
  318.  
  319. Setting Up Harvard(tm) Graphics
  320. -------------------------------
  321.  1. Start the Harvard(tm) Graphics program.
  322.  2. From the F6-Main Menu, press 8 (Setup).
  323.  3. Press 5 (Printer 1).
  324.  4. From the Printer 1 Setup Menu press F3 (Choices).
  325.  5. Use the arrow keys to highlight one of the following,
  326.     then press <Enter>.
  327.     HP DeskJet 500C              - Color output on paper.
  328.     HP DeskJet 500C Mono         - Black & white output on paper.
  329.     HP DeskJet 500C Transparency - Color transparency output.
  330.  6. Press the down arrow key to position the cursor across from "Output
  331.     Port".
  332.  7. Press F3 (Choices).
  333.  8. Use the arrow keys to select the port where your printer is connected,
  334.     then press <Enter>.
  335.  9. Press the down arrow key to position the cursor across from "Default
  336.     paper size", then press F3 (Choices).
  337. 10. Use the arrow keys to select the paper size, then press <Enter>.
  338. 11. Use the arrow keys to position the cursor across from "Use spooler".
  339. 12. Press F3 (Choices), and select "Yes".
  340.     NOTE: Setting "Use spooler" to "Yes" activates the integral spooler
  341.     and allows you to get back to Harvard Graphics sooner when printing.
  342.     With it set to "No", you'll have to wait until the print job is
  343.     nearly finished in order to continue working.  If you do not wish
  344.     to use the integral spooler, (for example, when using an external
  345.     hardware or software spooler) set "Use spooler" to "No".
  346. 13. Use the arrow keys to position the cursor across from "Quality".
  347. 14. Press F3 (Choices).
  348. 15. Select one of the following "Quality" options, then press <Enter>.
  349.     High:    Presentation/best quality.
  350.     Medium:  Normal/medium quality (faster printing than "High").
  351.     Draft:   Use to "proof" your work before printing a final copy.
  352. 16. Press <Enter>, then F10 to continue.
  353. 17. Press 1 (Program Defaults).
  354. 18. Using the arrow keys, move the cursor down to the bottom of the
  355.     screen across from "Max. spooler size (K):".
  356. 19. Type 3072 as the spooler size, then press <Enter>.
  357.     NOTE: This sets the spooler size to approximately 3Mb.  Since Harvard
  358.     Graphics creates this 3Mb file on your hard disk, make sure that you
  359.     have enough disk space to accommodate it.  Lowering the spooler size
  360.     will increase the time it will take to free up your PC while printing.
  361.     If you are using an external spooler (hardware or software solution),
  362.     set the "Use spooler" option to "No" in the Printer Setup Menus.
  363. 20. Press the Esc key.
  364.  
  365. Printing from Harvard(tm) Graphics 3.0
  366. --------------------------------------
  367.  1. From the F6-Main Menu press 5 (Output).
  368.  2. Press 1 (Printer 1).
  369.  3. Check to see if all of the printing information is correct, then
  370.     press F10-Continue to print.
  371.  
  372. Miscellaneous Notes
  373. -------------------
  374. If white colored areas of your chart are printed black (reversed B&W), you
  375. may need to make the following change to your printer setup configuration;
  376.  1. From the F6-Main Menu press 8 (Setup).
  377.  2. Press 5 (Printer 1).
  378.  3. From the Printer 1 Setup Menu select F8 (Options).
  379.  4. From the Printer Options menu set "Reverse black and white" to "No".

  385. Use the installation utility contained on this diskette to copy the
  386. FORMAT-A.C00 and HPDJ500C.HPD files to the HP Gallery directory on your
  387. hard disk.
  388.  
  389. Using the DeviceID Program
  390. --------------------------
  391.  1. From your \GALLERY directory type the following;
  392.      C:\GALLERY>  deviceid  ...then <Enter>.
  393.     NOTE:  If you do not have the DeviceID program installed in your
  394.     Gallery directory, copy the files from the "Graphics Gallery 3.0
  395.     Utility" master disk. Make sure that the following files are copied
  396.     to your hard disk;  DEVICEID.EXE, DEVICEID.MNU, DEVICEID.MAD, and
  397.     DEVICEID.MSG.
  398.  2. Select F1-Select Disc
  399.  3. Type the drive letter your \GALLERY directory resides in (e.g., C:),
  400.     then press <Enter>.
  401.  4. Select F3-Printer/Plotter.
  402.  5. Select F1-Add Device.
  403.  6. Press the arrow keys to highlight "HP DeskJet 500C".
  404.     NOTE:  If, occasionally you'd like to print with the black ink
  405.     cartridge, make sure that you've also selected the "DeskJet" printer. 
  406.  7. Select F1-Device Setup.
  407.  8. From the "Device Setup" screen, select the Interface and Port where
  408.     your printer is connected.
  409.  9. Select F1-Save Setup.
  410. 10. Select F8-Device List.
  411. 11. Select F8-Printer/Plotter.
  412. 12. Select F8-Main.
  413. 13. Under "Identified Printers and Plotters", verify that the
  414.     "HP DeskJet 500C" printer and the interface/port are correct.
  415. 14. Select F8-Exit DeviceID.
  416.  
  417. Printing from HP Drawing Gallery
  418. --------------------------------
  419.  1. From the "Main" menu select F2-Drawing Keys.
  420.  2. Select F2-Device Control.
  421.  3. In the "Device Control" screen, tab (or use your mouse and click) to
  422.     the "Device Name/Port" field.
  423.  4. Select F3-Next Choice until "HP DeskJet 500C / port" is displayed.
  424.  5. Tab (or move your mouse) to any of the other fields and change them
  425.     to suit your printing format needs.  For example, the "Medium" field
  426.     will allow you to choose between "Paper" and "Transparency".
  427.     Supported resolutions are 300 x 300 DPI, 150 x 300 DPI & 150 x 150 DPI.
  428.     Charts/drawings may be printed in either "Vertical" (portrait) or
  429.     "Horizontal" (landscape) modes.
  430.  6. Select F5-Save Choices.
  431.  7. Select F1-Draw to Deskjet5  ...to print the graphic.
  432.  
  433. Printing from HP Charting Gallery
  434. ---------------------------------
  435.  1. From the "Main" menu select F3-Edit and Draw.
  436.  2. Select F6-Draw.
  437.  3. Verify that an asterisk is displayed in the lower right corner of
  438.     the F4-Full Color softkey label.
  439.  4. Select F2-Device Control.
  440.  5. In the "Device Control" screen, tab (or use your mouse and click) to
  441.     the "Device Name/Port" field.
  442.  6. Select F3-Next Choice until "HP DeskJet 500C / port" is displayed.
  443.  7. Tab (or move your mouse) to any of the other fields and change them
  444.     to suit your printing format needs.  For example, the "Medium" field
  445.     will allow you to choose between "Paper" and "Transparency".

  462. Using the Lotus(R) INSTALL Program
  463. ----------------------------------
  464.  1. From the 1-2-3 directory on your hard disk type INSTALL, then <Enter>.
  465.     NOTE:   Make sure you have copied the WYSIWYG program to your hard

  479.     color output only (from Printgraph & WYSIWYG).  To print black text
  480.     and graphics (black ink cartridge installed), you'll need to also
  481.     select the "DeskJet,+ and 500 portrait" and/or "DeskJet,+ and 500
  482.     landscape" drivers under the "Text Printer" and "Graphics Printer"
  483.     configuration screens in the Lotus Install program.
  484.  7. Highlight "HP" ...then press <Enter>.
  485.  8. Highlight "DeskJet 500C" ...then press <Enter>.

  495. Establishing Printer Default Settings
  496. -------------------------------------
  497.  After running the Lotus Install program, you must select your printer
  498.  default settings.  If you will be using WYSIWYG to format spreadsheets,
  499.  you'll need to select printer defaults in both 1-2-3 native mode and in
  500.  the WYSIWYG add-in program.
  501.  
  502.  1-2-3 Native Mode
  503.  -----------------
  504.   To select printer default settings in 1-2-3 native mode:
  505.    1. Begin 1-2-3.
  506.    2. Select /, W(Worksheet), G(Global), D(Default), P(Printer),
  507.       I(Interface), 1(Parallel 1) ...assuming you're using a parallel
  508.       interface.
  509.    3. Make the following printer default settings;
  510.       Select A(AutoLF)...then select N(No).
  511.       Select L(Left margin).  Type 0, then press <Enter>.
  512.       Select R(Right margin).  Type 80, then press <Enter>.
  513.       Select T(Top margin).  Type 0, then press <Enter>.
  514.       Select B(Bottom margin).  Type 0, then press <Enter>.
  515.       Select P(Pg-Length).  Type 60, then press <Enter>.
  516.       Select W(Wait)...then select N(No).
  517.       Select S(Setup).  Verify that there is no setup string (blank),
  518.       then press <Enter>.
  519.       Select N(Name).  Use the arrow keys to select the type of printing
  520.       you want to do.  The "HP DeskJet+ and 500 portrait" or "HP DeskJet+
  521.       and 500 landscape" drivers will provide black printing.

  523.  WYSIWYG Mode

  525.   To select printer default settings in the WYSIWYG add-in program:        
  526.    1. From 1-2-3, start WYSIWYG.  If you do not have WYSIWYG setup to
  527.       automatically load, do the following;
  528.       Simultaneously press the Alt and F10 keys.
  529.       Select A(Attach).
  530.       Use the arrow keys to select "WYSIWYG.ADN", then press <Enter>.
  531.       Select a function key to use with WYSIWYG (or choose No-key).
  532.       Select Q(Quit).
  533.    2. Select ":" to invoke the WYSIWYG command-line.
  534.    3. Select P(Print), C(Configuration), P(Printer).
  535.    4. Use the arrow keys to select "HP DeskJet 500C Paper", "HP DeskJet
  536.       500C Transparency", "HP DeskJet+, 500 High Density" (black ink
  537.       printing at 300dpi) or "HP DeskJet+, 500 Low Density" (black ink
  538.       printing at 150dpi).  Press <Enter> after you've made your printer
  539.       driver selection.
  540.    5. Select I(Interface) and choose the interface port you're connected
  541.       to.  NOTE:  We recommend that you use one of the parallel printer
  542.       ports for color printing.  Printing may take much longer when using
  543.       one of the serial ports.
  544.    6. Select O(Orientation), and choose either the P(Portrait) or
  545.       L(Landscape) mode. 
  546.    7. Select Q(Quit), Q(Quit).

  548.   Using Your Printer in WYSIWYG Mode
  549.   ----------------------------------
  550.    The fonts available in WYSIWYG depend on whether you generated Basic,
  551.    Medium, or Extended fonts in the Lotus Install program.
  552.    
  553.    HP DeskJet 500 font cartridges and internal fonts (except Courier) are
  554.    not supported in 1-2-3 Native Mode or WYSIWYG.  However, WYSIWYG (as 
  555.    shipped) includes the typefaces Swiss, Dutch, and XSymbol.
  556.    NOTE:  It is possible to select the HP DeskJet 500C internal Courier or 
  557.    Letter Gothic typefaces using printer commands from a S(Setup) string,
  558.    or embedded in the worksheet using the "||" command while in the 1-2-3
  559.    Native Mode. Refer to your 1-2-3 documentation for more information on
  560.    how to send printer escape sequence commands.
  561.    
  562.    To select a font in WYSIWYG;
  563.    1. Select ":", F(Format), F(Font).
  564.    2. Use the left/right arrow keys to select a font, then press <Enter>.
  565.    3. Use the arrow keys to specify a range where you want the font
  566.       applied, then press <Enter>.
  567.    
  568.    Using Color in WYSIWYG;
  569.    Colored text and graphics can only be obtained by using the DeskJet 500C
  570.    printer with the color ink cartridge installed.  Black text and graphics
  571.    will print as "composite" black when the color ink cartridge is
  572.    installed. 
  573.    1. Select ":", F(Format), C(Color), T(Text).
  574.    2. Select a color from the list of choices.
  575.    3. Use the arrow keys to specify a range where you want the color
  576.       applied, then press <Enter>.

  578.    As an example of applying color within WYSIWYG, to print negative
  579.    numbers in red;
  580.    Select ":", D(Display), C(Colors), N(Neg), R(Red), Q(Quit), Q(Quit).

  582.    Printing Color from WYSIWYG;
  583.    1. Make sure the color ink cartridge is installed in your printer.
  584.    2. Select ":", P(Print), R(Range), S(Set), then indicate the range of
  585.       the worksheet you want printed.  Then, press <Enter>.

  587.       printing you want, select P(Print), C(Configuration) from the WYSIWYG

  591.    4. Select Q(Quit).
  592.    5. Select G(Go) to print the selected range of your worksheet.
  593.       NOTE:  Only those portions of your worksheet which have been
  594.       specified as being color (including text, numbers, borders) will be
  595.       printed in color.  Anything else will be printed in "composite" black.

  597.    Printing Black from WYSIWYG;
  598.    1. Make sure the black ink cartridge is installed in your printer.
  599.    2. Select ":", P(Print), R(Range), S(Set), then indicate the range of
  600.       the worksheet you want printed.  Then, press <Enter>.
  601.    3. If the current printer default is not set to "HP DeskJet,+ and 500
  602.       High Density", select C(Config), P(Printer), then use the arrow keys
  603.       to select "HP DeskJet,+ and 500 High Density", then press <Enter>.
  604.    4. Select Q(Quit), then G(Go) to begin printing.

  606.    Printing in Landscape Orientation;
  607.    Landscape printing is an internal feature of the HP DeskJet 500C printer.
  608.    No landscape cartridge is required.
  609.    1. Select ":", P(Print), C(Config), O(Orientation), L(Landscape),
  610.       Q(Quit).
  611.    2. Select L(Layout), P(Page-Size), C(Custom).
  612.    3. Enter the paper width as 7.
  613.    4. Enter the paper length as 10.
  614.       NOTE:  Printing errors will occur (printed output will be split at the
  615.       top and bottom of the page) if values greater than 7" x 10" are used.
  616.    5. Select Q(Quit), then G(Go) to begin printing.

  618. Miscellaneous Notes
  619. -------------------
  620.  1. Graphics and ASCII text cannot be combined on the same page.
  621.  2. Color graphics will print on either paper or transparencies.
  622.  3. For normal (portrait orientation) printing, the Paper Bin setting
  623.     should be set to "Single-Sheet" for correct graphics imaging. Select
  624.     ":", P(Print), C(Config), B(Bin), S(Single-Sheet), Q(Quit), Q(Quit).
  625.  4. For landscape orientation printing, make sure you set the 
  626.     page-size to 7" x 10" (as stated above under "Printing in Landscape
  627.     Orientation").  If you don't, you may experience printing errors
  628.     where text is split at the top and bottom of the page.
  629.  5. Printed colors may not match those selected from within the WYSIWYG
  630.     color palette in edit mode.  Printed colors may not match colors
  631.     displayed on screen.  WYSIWYG allows you to choose from a graphic
  632.     palette of 224 colors or 16 text colors.  These colors may be viewed
  633.     on screen.  However, only a subset of those colors can actually be 
  634.     printed from the application.
  635.  6. Lotus Printgraph exhibits a problem where some colors may not print
  636.     correctly.  For example, a blue bar in a chart may print in white
  637.     (clear).  Changing the "Range colors" may correct the problem.

  643. Using the "INSTDRV.BAT" Utility

  714. The page size may have to be adjusted to eliminate a problem where the top
  715. margin becomes larger on consecutive printed pages. In this instance,
  716. make sure that the WYSIWYG Layout, Page-Size, is set to Custom, and
  717. 7 x 10 inches.

  719. Printed colors may not match those selected from the WYSIWYG color graphics
  720. palette.  Consequently, printed colors don't match what is displayed on
  721. screen.  Even though WYSIWYG allows a selection of up to 224 colors in
  722. graphics edit mode, or 16 text colors, only a subset of those can actually
  723. be printed from the application.

  759.     name.  NOTE:  This is the name that appears below the icon in the 
  760.     Presentation Team "Devices" dialogue box. 
  761. 13. Press the down arrow key to select the continuation message, then

  763. 14. Press <Enter> when prompted at the "[Select Plotter]", 
  764.     "[Select Camera]", "[Presentation Team Utilities & Clip Art]",

  830.  If the DeskJet 500C is the only printer connected to your system, we
  831.  suggest that you set up the "1st Printer" using one of the "B&W" (black-
  832.  only) drivers.  Then configure the "2nd Printer" for "Color" printing.

  834.  cartridge installed in the printer) and color (color ink cartridge
  835.  installed in the printer) printing modes.

  838. Using Color in Your Worksheets
  839.  Printing Cells Containing Negative Numbers in Red;

  861.  To print graphs from Quattro Pro do the following;
